Being responsible for a living creature and making sure they grow into a functioning, healthy adult is scary, but you can do it. As a provider of child care in Vineland, New Jersey, we know that keeping your child healthy should be a priority, so here are some tips from us.

  • Proper Hygiene

    Having proper hygiene is crucial to be in good health, so establish healthy habits in your child at a young age. Teach your young one to:

    • Trim their fingernails and toenails.
    • Wash their hands before they eat.
    • Brush their teeth morning and night.
    • Bathe every day.

    Of course, it is important that you practice what you preach; be a good example to them and hopefully, they will follow suit.

  • A Well-Balanced Diet

    A young body requires nutritious meals and healthy snacks in order to grow big and strong. Make sure your child has a well-balanced diet.

    • Limit your little one’s intake of sugars and sweets.
    • Get your child to drink plenty of water every day.
    • Keep your child’s bones strong with foods rich in calcium and vitamin D.
    • Remember: you can never go wrong with fruits and vegetables!
  • Exercise

    Get your child up and active at a young age and encourage them to move their body and get their blood pumping! Play with them at the park or in the backyard, go on bike rides around the block together, or get them involved in sports. Make exercising fun for them to keep them healthy.

  • Electronics

    The world today is overrun with technology and although it benefits us greatly, there are downsides to it, as well.

    • Instead of going outside and exploring the world, kids stay shut up inside their rooms watching YouTube videos.
    • Because of phones and social media, communication skills in those who are younger are dwindling.
    • Too much time spent sitting and staring at a screen has made children more impatient and more prone to distractions.

    Everything is good in moderation; limit your young one’s tech time.

  • Love, Affection, and Attention

    Children’s emotional and mental health is just as important as their physical health. They need love, affection, and attention, especially from their parents. Little ones look up to their moms and dads and a lack of encouragement and kind words can lead to low self-esteem, trouble with trusting others, and other struggles later on in life. Spend quality time with your little one. Shower them with kisses, give them hugs galore, and tell them you love them!
